Sand channels are interpreted as having values less than 2, in yellow. Background colors give the Vp/Vs values from time thickness ratios. The Colony horizon is in blue and the Sparky in red.
PROMC HAMPSON RUSSELL REGISTRATION
This type of cooperation will also contribute to an enhanced understanding of the potential oil and gas reserves in Egypt and the wider Middle East region. Figure 2.Well A11-17: Registration and horizon match using the Hampson Russell ProMC software package. Hampson-Russell Software & Services has been donating its geophysical software for research and training purposes since 1987 and over 120 universities and colleges now participate worldwide.Ĭolin Murdoch, Executive Vice President, Processing, Imaging & Reservoir, CGGVeritas, said: "The donation of our innovative Hampson-Russell software to the BUE marks a new stage in our long-term commitment to Egypt, where we already have a strong local footprint with our Middle East processing center in Cairo and an impressive track record of land and marine seismic operations. CGGVeritas already takes students from various universities in Egypt for summer training and supervises a number of graduate projects in Cairo each year. This new facility will give the BUE a competitive edge in the field of geoscience education while allowing CGGVeritas to develop close ties with the BUE students interested in pursuing a career in the petroleum industry. CGGVeritas will also provide training to maximize the benefit of a dedicated Hampson-Russell Laboratory established for the benefit of the BUE faculty and students.
We also gratefully acknowledge support from NSERC (Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada). In addition Sensor offers Multicomponent Interpretation support using Hampson-Russell’s ProMC software. This software donation is seen as the first step of a fruitful cooperation between CGGVeritas and the BUE department of Engineering, Petroleum and Gas Technology in Cairo. providing the interpretation software Hampson-Russell and Gedco for providing Vista and CREWES for providing Syngram. Sensor Geophysical specializes in processing 2D, 3D, 4D and Multicomponent seismic data, including data recorded with the latest generation of digital sensors: INPUT/OUTPUT’s VectorSeis and SERCEL’s DSU.
CGGVeritas has donated its Hampson-Russell software suite, encompassing all aspects of seismic exploration and reservoir characterization, from AVO analysis and inversion to 4D and multicomponent interpretation, to the British University in Egypt (BUE).
